Colds, Coughs and Sinus Problems
Mix the juice of 1/2 a lemon with 1 teaspoon of honey and add some hot but not boiling water. Very soothing.
Coughs Cough syrup: Finely dice a medium size onion. Put into a jar and add 2 tablespoons of honey. Wait until the honey has liquefied and strain. Use only the syrup. Swallow one or two teaspoons at a time. Soothing and tasty. Mix a tablespoon of vinegar and a teaspoon of honey to loosen a chesty cough. For barking coughs homeopathic Bryonia in a 6 potency taken 3 to 8 times a day can be very helpful.
Take a steam bath to clear the sinuses. Add a drop of thyme oil or use a camomile teabag in a bowl of steaming hot water. Cover your head and the bowl with a towel and inhale the essential oil for five to ten minutes. Rinsing the sinuses: Mix enough salt with handwarm water in a cup or glass, so the mixture tastes comfortably salty. Now hold one nostril closed while gently sucking the salt solution into the other noistril. Leave there for 1/2 a minute to a minute and blow out repeat two to three times per nostril. If you like afterwards you can apply a bit of diluted thyme or pine oil to the inner walls of your nostrils.
Blocked Nose Take your index and middle finger and place each on one side of your nose. Press with medium pressure for two to five minutes until the nose opens to the airflow again. |
